The Site Council supports and encourages the efforts of developing a School Improvement Plan (or "SIP"). It is a state requirement for certain funding allocations that the school has a SIP. The goal of this plan is to improve instruction, auxiliary services, school environment, and school organization to meet the needs of all students. A state budget is allocated yearly to each school involved with SIP. SIP funds are then distributed by the Site Council to various school programs as they see fit within the School Improvement Program guidelines. Equal number of parents and school staff comprise a Site Council. Site Council meets monthly and is open to all. At Jackson, items are funded according to a staff/parent prioritized wish list.
